After verification, Roch le Coq opened at this location in 2019 while Jack only opened in…2021. Pay attention to your sources on the internet. It's not the nicest place in Montreal but that's part of the restaurant's personality: we do fried chicken, no fuss. For this visit, I took the Rochy at $6.75 (a good indicator of inflation out of control, price increase of +35%?! which is a small chicken burger, “slider” type. I prefer this one to the Mega Roch. The only downside is that it's small, I had to order a second one to satisfy my appetite. Not the best in Montreal (see my review of Joyo but an honest chicken burger, better than average with mayo, lettuce and pickles that balances out the fat of the chicken, good for 4 .Fast, friendly service, from staff who serve a lot in a week.RecommendedP.S.: if this review was useful and informative to you, please ? leave a ? to support the author, thank you Parking: Very difficult to find parking, the majority of spaces have been removed by the city on Van Horne.
The craving for fried chicken came to me yesterday while browsing the DoorDash menu, except I had already ordered the pizza. Just today I thought about fried chicken. Impulsive, I ordered 7 mixed pieces, accompanied by 2 salads, a gravy type sauce, a huge fries as well as another sauce of my choice, namely barbecue. I'm a regular at Paradis BBQ, but I couldn't find it on DoorDash and I wanted to try Roch le Coq. I had heard very good feedback and my expectations were high. It is surely these expectations combined with my tendency to have eyes bigger than my stomach that led me to order this gigantic feast and to the loss of $60. The chicken is not bad, but extremely fatty. I much prefer the Paradis BBQ seasoning, but I imagine everyone has their own preferences; after all, there are many tasteless people. The breading is nevertheless perfectly crispy and the chicken very juicy. The chicken also served as a receptacle for the gravy sauce. It was well salted with a nice meaty taste. I would have preferred to use my poultry vessel to convey my sauce of choice, the BBQ one, to my mouth instead except that I didn't receive it. I didn't like the coleslaw, which was neither creamy nor vinegary. Mint doesn't help the situation. The fries weren't crunchy enough for my taste (I guess we can blame the shipping) and they were also too greasy. On the other hand, they emanated a good authentic potato taste. I will know next time, if there is one, that this portion is suitable for two people and not just one. That being said, the price is pretty reasonable for two. I am relatively disappointed, but it is very far from being PFK.Also, I suffered gastrically from this culinary adventure. I think it's important to point this out, without blaming the restaurant.
Best poutine i've ever had. the fries were great, the sauce was amazing!also had popcorn chicken and it was delicious.highly recommend, even if it
Laughable. I can't believe I basically just paid $100 for 11 chicken fingers. Fries also have that terrible cheap crispy batter. Lots of fried chicken places around now, this is the worst I've tried.
Best fried chicken I've tasted in MTL, made with quality products! Not much room inside, better to take away if you are a group. Also, the fries are great so I advise you to poutine your fries ? 3 pieces is more than enough if you’re not a big eater!
