Excellent food/pie with great advice from the staff, great waitresses; thank you Katie and Molly. Certainly will return again.
The christmas menu we were sent wasn't being used, we booked for 7.30pm were asked to arrive at 8pm due to staffing. There were only 3 tables seated when we arrived it wasn't busy. 16 of us in the cellar so had to sit separately was supposed to be a works party. no draft beer available, no wine glasses they gave some of us gin glasses. Food was but a £18 for a pie is steep. The staff came down several times around 10pm to say they were closing soon. The Grinch stole christmas the reputation of this once great restaurant
Enjoyed a family meal in the rustic settings of the restaurant. The pies were very nice. Throughly recommend the Steak and Spitfire ale. However our visit was dented by the extreme greedy and ill thought out service charge. The service want great and I have never seen a charge applied in such a basic restaurant. I asked for the charge to be removed which was not a great place to be after what was a nice meal. Very poorly thought out.
Lunch was so good on our first day we returned for Supper the next day. Food and drink is amazing and service is impeccable. Stacey is an excellent hostess and all the staff are friendly and helpful. As you'd expect the pies are the star of the show but I'd also highly recommend the pork belly, melts in the mouth. If you're after something to takeout, the sausage rolls are amazing.
