Wonderful and relaxed atmosphere, great food and very nice staff. It is a hidden gem, as another reviewer mentioned. They focus on food from the Algarve, which is highly recommended, but also a great place if you just want to stop by to have a drink away from the big crowd in Bairro Alto.
A quirky basement bar featuring board games, a friendly atmosphere and delicious fresh food. The tapas selection was good value for money, fresh tasting and interesting. We appreciated the friendly helpful hosts.
We stumbled on this restaurant and were no way expecting the delicious food and wine that we were served. The staff were lovely and the whole gastronomic experience made for a perfect evening. We would thoroughly recommend this place for a special dinner.
We spoke with Selma one afternoon who kindly took time to explain the menu. We returned for dinner that same evening. A Sala is located opposite parliament palace. The food and its preparation is from the Algarve region of Portugal. Our experience was truly rewarding and satisfying. Our favourites included the sweet potato and goat cheese, taquitos Algarve with mango salsa, pickled carrot and razor clam bulhao pato. Selma was a friendly, welcoming and hospitable host. It's a welcome retreat from the downtown tourist dining trail. I highly recommend this unique restaurant.
