Santa Maria - Lisboa

Just a very short walk from our hotel, while it looks like a small poke cafe from the front, don't let that fool you. There is a large dining area at the rear. With simple styling, you might say it was a bit like a pub meal. The food was a good traditional Portuguese menu, with a range of options, and a home cooked style. The service was exceptional, while we had language difficulties, the staff went out of their way to help with the food selections, and to make sure that we had a good meal. We also received good assistance with our wine selections the recommendations from the staff were very good. And the whole night, meal and drinks were all reasonably priced. Not haute cuisine, but good honest Portuguese food and hospitality.

We had an awesome dinner here. The restaurant seems like a local neighbourhood spot. The food was authentic Portuguese at great prices. A bottle of wine, one appetizer, two main courses, one dessert and multiple bottles of sparkling water for ~41 Euro. Would highly reccommend to anyone staying at some of the hotels in the area don’t be deterred by the lack of reviews. They do have an English menu if you ask!

One of the best grilled fish I ever had!!! Plenty of food on the dish , fresh grilled local fish . I enjoyed light soup, shrimp broth with cream . Fresh cut salad was refreshing. Local cheese with bread as starter was nice and tasty. Waiter really helpful and friendly. On the way out chef greeted us nicely. I can say it’s lovely local place , no tourist whatsoever just locals.

Não percebo o porquê deste restaurante estar com tão baixa avaliação. Fui lá com uns amigos a pensar que seria mais uma tasca para gastar dinheiro e não ficar satisfeita com a comida, mas a verdade é q sai de lá bastante surpreendida e hoje em dia sou cliente frequente. Os pratos são bastante típicos e diferentes, tanto há polvo com broa como javali. São muito saborosos e vêm tão bem servidos que até à meia dose e demais para uma pessoa q não come por aí alem. Os funcionários são simpáticos e as da cozinha também. Para mim, nesta rua, e sem duvida o melhor restaurante para se comer por menos de 10€.
