Great selection of dishes served promptly. Will definitely return, especially considering their attentiveness to timing.
Ate here after a tour of Lord’s. Despite its history, the pub is a modern and not very atmospheric space, with TVs showing sports channels. The menu is mostly what you’d expect in a pub, but with a couple of interesting twists like mutton curry which my husband enjoyed but overall to me it wasn’t awfully inspiring. My fish cakes were tasty enough, but lacked any discernible texture, and didn’t come with the “triple cooked chips” I had ordered until we chased. Similarly, my starter was nice but not special, and came missing the extra of feta cheese that I had asked for. Service was very friendly and prompt, but not really tested as the place was almost empty. It’s a decent, convenient and reasonably priced stop off if you’re going to Lord’s, but don’t expect a “destination restaurant”!
I made a reservation for 5:45pm through Open Table to celebrate my parents' 53rd wedding anniversary. However, when we arrived, the staff informed us that the kitchen had closed at 5pm. This was a disappointing start to our special occasion. It would be helpful if the restaurant updated the portals they advertise on to accurately reflect their opening hours. Despite this setback, we ended up having a wonderful evening at The Ivy in St John's Wood, which was a much better experience.
The bangers and mash was so small, we had to have a second lunch.
