This has to be the best fish (cod) and chips. Steaming hot, fresh, pleasantly presented and of high quality. See from the pics how wondrously white the cod is. Very light batter coating and not a splodge of grease anywhere. Tempura prawns starter was a nice appetiser, but at £8.95 for 8, but in all honesty, they didn't seem homemade, and Lidl Sainsburys, and Tesco do pretty much the same thing for around £2.50/£3 for a box of 12. A very nice eating experience with great attentiveness and service. However, it was most off-putting and unpleasant to discover that the wooden table we were at was quite filthy. Stains and dirt embedded on the surface. On one wipe with a sanitising cloth, the result is shown in photo. On looking around, other surfaces could be seen with clumps of dust. Not very good for any eating establishment, and deep cleans should be done every day! C'mon, don't get complacent, guys. You have a lovely, cosy, remarkable establishment, so please take more pride in it!
