I took my wife and children for lunch on Mother's Day. It really started with a warm welcome and what seemed like a beautiful atmosphere. The service also started with a smile, but it really went wrong afterwards. The service was quite open, the food was terrible. The starters were very poor and quite blanching, my wife's Brat dinner decorated microwave with bad quality meat. My food was okay, but not generous in serving size. My son got a cheeseburger with in a brown role... we were told that bit was a healthy option and the other children saw meal microwave. We had put the bill on our table before we were even asked for Dessert, not that we had eaten it. The pleasure of this terrible experience costs £75 for lunch 2 adults and 2 children all with an alcoholic drink. Overpriced is an understatement. The restaurant was not even half full, as it was so poor overall. Nandos less than 5 minutes away would have been half the price and in every way better. That says everything.
Very quiet and a bit in vain when we visited, although the service was friendly and food was good.
There was only one waitress on a Friday night. She fought to get the service right and we had to sit with wine menus for about 10 minutes before the menus were taken. There were delays with food and the bill and our order was a few times wrong. The barman did not know what Macchiato was and always asked if it was Mocha Latte. The room is beautiful and spacious and I would like to return if I was sure that the service improved! The food was okay, nothing special, but nothing wrong with it.
Being in the heart of Teddington, the restaurant gives you the feel of a country hotel. Good food, friendly server and large space done up in Christmas cheer met expectations.
