This place has become my favorite Go-to place for soul food on Sunday. The chicken and dressing okra and greens were delicious, especially the banana pudding. The mood here can sometimes be busy, but this is to be expected. This restaurant reminds me of a Gullah Geechee restaurant back home. I wish they were on the door. I would just pay the difference just to her food so far the experience was pleasant.
It's the world's best home cooked meal that you will ever eat. Family owned and the most respected in East Texas. I would put them in top 3 in the country. If you don't believe me the Beef tips and rice I'd to die for. They have a excellent menu to choose from.
I wanted to eat here twice. For the first time, they were closed 30 minutes before the actual closing time. The second time the door was closed, but the interior was full of people. No one came to the door to open it, so I just walked. I try to support as much as possible black companies, but this service will not get this restaurant further than East Texas.
I had the beef tips with cabbage and green, Nabeby had the crushed paprika with potatoes and corn. Everything was delicious!!! We're coming back!
