Excellent food and friendly staff. We had for starters artichoke pasta and aubergine melanzana, main dish sea bass and rabbit. Nice ambience.
We have just finished a lovely three course meal plus dessert. We shared each course, starting with an excellent duck foie gras, a simple ravioli pasta course, finishing with the sea bass catch of the day. The apple tart with Chantilly cream and raspberry sauce was just filling enough and helped us complete our local Lucca white wine. All served with great timing by Lucas. BUT here's where the problem was: when I got the bill, we were charged $158 for our $121 meal. This was a bit odd because the owner/manager had taken our order and had prepared the bill. But the real issue was that when I went to the register, she played dumb and actually gave me a hard time. Certainly, never an apology was made. As an Italian-American from New Jersey, I've seen plenty of side hustles but when you go to a Michelin rated restaurant in Lucca, you expect better. Since there are a host of great restaurants in Lucca, I'd recommend you put this one at the bottom of your list!
Good dinner, great wine, friendly staff and helpful
You eat very well, courteous service and very professional. Good.
