During our last visit to the Thanksgiving Festival, nature reaches the full again and provides sunny hours and best hiking and cycling weather. Just past the crown, the path leads to the Schillerstadt Marbach – in just 5 kilometres you have reached the next highlight. The fact that we knock on the best Prime Time on Sunday afternoons without reservation is already courageous. We probably get the last free two table in the original restaurant – but hardly one meter from a family celebration that is not entirely corona-compliant. If you want to return with a calmer conscience, you should come by at less frequented times. The only day of rest is Tuesday. It is baked on Monday and it is served from 5 p.m. 30 to 22 p.m. Otherwise, the delightful traditional menu, set on high-quality ingredients, with currently 4 appetizers, 6 main dishes and 3 desserts applies. The offer combines Swabian classics such as flädle soup, onion rust roasts, mouthbags, beetles) with trendy bonds ( pumpkin soup, goat fresh cheese, bulgur with almonds and dates). Is it due to my nostalgic memories that I had the prices in previous years or decades somewhat more moderately in memory? For this purpose, the finest ingredients and preparation are considered. Schnitzel and Lendchen originate from Schwäbisch Hällischen Landschwein or the “Neckarschwein” by Bauer Aberle. Should this be the happy pigs I once saw on a sunny terrace with a walnut look? Despite full house on Sunday midday, the service lady is quickly at the place: self-confident, active, with clear announcements. We choose Schnitzel with late zle and sauce (17,90 Euro) and beetle with salad in the glass (17,50 Euro), as well as a mineral water (3,10 Euro) and a non-alcoholic yeast (4,00 Euro). Anyone who knows the lush, nutritious crown portions may ask for a small portion, even if the card does not explicitly prove this. As a rule, there is a 2.00 Euro discount for the discounted variant. You should try the late zle, because they are hand-pressed according to the map. Noblesse oblige: after all, the crown is chef of chefs of the ancients of the inventor of the late press. So it doesn't always have to be scraped... After a little over 20 minutes, the food is on the table. To look pretty, but unfortunately only lukewarm. When the service lady “Everything okay?” asks, we only point to it in a disgusting manner. Without discussion and Lamento, our plates are removed and replaced with new ones after a few minutes – with completely new dishes, this time still steaming. Anyone who has experienced a fast pimping in the microwave at other places will appreciate this service! At the Schnitzel, we enjoy two finely panned back pieces from the Schwäbisch Hällische Landschwein, the Spätzle have uniform contours thanks to the press, are crowned by melted semmelbröseln (class that also belonged to every Sunday dinner of my grandma) and are able to absorb the light, pleasantly peppery sauce well. The beetles have the supremacy of an omelet, are roasted in a frying pan and smelled hearty to mountain cheese. The luxury of two kinds of aggregations in the onions (soft crispy steamed and crispy cross roasted) is rarely experienced. Unfortunately, the salad looks more beautiful in the glass than it tastes – a little more spices and a more scenic dressing would have done the raw food well. The crunchy sprouts and the fine carrots and radish strips are okay – but for the potato salad either a wrong variety or an unsuitable dressing has been used. Both dishes saturate phenomenal and give enough strength for the subsequent hike along the Neckar. Except for the lack of distance from the family neighbour, our visit is pure enjoyment. As we discover when going out, in good weather you can also sit on the teasing-side terrace or on the small two-seaters in front of the house (with inspiring views of the outside aquariat opposite). Clean and proper are all rooms, including the toilet.
Why only 4 out of 5 stars: the stupid pandemic! The food taken along was unfortunately very well cooled. I prefer to take food and drinks at the table in the restaurant and it is more sociable. A great praise for the team that at this time gives so much effort to satisfy the guest.

We were there for dinner again yesterday. A very nice evening with very good food and delicious drinks. A very pleasant atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. What more do you want? We'll be back.
Nice cozy restaurant, menu Bourgeois with a touch of the extraordinary as e.g. Sound gift sons in Dessert or Minzmoos.... Dogs are also allowed to accompany and also receive a sip of water for between... Service attentive... different payment options...
