The Scotsman serves the most exclusive scotch whiskeys you 'll ever find! If you 're part Scottish, as I am, this is the place to celebrate your heritage. ...but be careful, the Scotsman is a high-end bistro in an upscale neighborhood...if you get to know the locals, it will become your go to social spot! ....definitely a 5-star destination!
What I liked about this place most was the ambiance. For a second, when it's dark out, you almost feel like you're actually out of the country. It reminded me a bit of Ireland in its feel, and of course the food. The service was also exceptional ultra friendly and helpful, patient, kind. As for the food, we ordered some of the favorites: Scotch Eggs, Scottish Meat Pie, Gran's Steak Pie, Chocolate Souffle, a Guinness, and a Moscow Mule... with tax and tip, somewhere around $80? I'm forgetting now, but it adds up. The Scotch eggs were a little boring in my opinion, aside from the mustard; I think they may have just been overcooked to the point of being too dry (2.5 stars). I would pass on those, as they were nothing special. The pies were both decent (4 stars) with very fresh bread on top and the dish steaming out of the oven. For mine (steak pie) think: beef stew. As for the souffle, well, yum. Steaming, flavorful, done just right 4.5 stars. And, as I said, stellar customer service (5 stars). Bottom line: Check it out!
Group reservations were easy to make via online and through email communication with Marvella. Tabs were easily and accurately split. Thank you Scotsman for another nice dining experience.
I came here for the steak pie but it was sold out. So I ordered for one chicken enchiladas with rice and sour cream $8 and Heinz bean $3. The portion was good and very filling. The taste was mild and ok nothing to be excited about. I didn't get much of the spices. The beans were sweet and average. Hubby had bbq ribs with Heinz beans. It was 3 ribs with lots of meat. The ribs didn't look or taste like bbq. They were more like braised ribs. The meat was tender and fell of the bone. The sauce was Baby ray Bbq sauce. Nice little be music. Service was ok. I might come back to give steak pie a try.
Freaking yum!! Hubby I went here to try something new since we're planning a trip to Scotland in the summer we thought this would be a good try....it definitely was! First off we went on a Wednesday at 7pm but the were still 4 or 5 tables full of happy people. I had heard the bacon wrapped dates were fanominal and I'm telling you they do not disappoint, that two bite little scrumptious tid bit is so addictive. My hubby had a scotch egg (order early it takes 25 min) which was down rite delectable, our fantastic wait staff, by the name of Victoria, brought his meat pie, not only is this pie juicy with a ton of savory meat chunks but it is topped with a square of perfectly browned puff pastry that when ripped off dipped in the meat pie filling is heavenly. This is definitely a gem worth a visit.
