However, in my most recent trip through their drive thru I was prompted for a tip... at a drive thru. So are they not paying their employees well enough? If you are paying them with tips, then the food should be cheaper. You can't have both.Pretty disappointed with that experience.
If you want to drop $50 for 3 kids to eat basic summer food, by all means. The desserts are good so not going to knock them on thatFood: 3/5
I live right by here and want to love this place. But there are several factors that really turn me off. The prices are simply too high, except for the coffee. Right down the road there is a Culver’s that is fully half the price and if all you want is a turtle Sunday, Culver’s is at least as good. The dance club music tiresome and not the vibe you want at 11 AM and blasted to the exterior at all times. The food is ok and the custard is really good but somehow it’s just not an appealing place. I can guarantee that if they fixed a few things you’d have the whole neighborhood lined up here on summer nights. This could be such an awesome spot and appealing to bikers and everyone else. 1. Fix the music 2. The tables are painted bright white and when the sun is out being outside literally hurts your eyes. 3. Make it not all concrete. I’d do gravel with some greenery. 4. Pump up the coffee biz. With the loss of Java Cat and Crema being closed sundays this is the only game around and the coffee is good, coffee shop quality stuff for and ok price. And no one knows about it. 5. Add on some uniqueness. Movie night? It’s a s outdoor space by the lake. Let’s get creative. You don’t need that much parking and the 4’ barrier fence is not enough of a visual barrier between Monona Drive and the shop. 6. Make sure you’re exhausting the grill odors so the interior doesn’t smell and feel greasy.Super easy fixes I feel like but the joint has a real inertial feeling to it. Like a love it or don’t come kind of vibe. Let me tell you, a lot of people are not coming.Kid friendliness: Outdoor patio and retro interior is very good for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: It’s a grade level door inside. Also there’s a drive thru
Very good coffee at a good price! Custard is pricey but also great. Better than Culver's...I said itFood: 5/5
The custard is top notch we just can’t afford to go there often when custard for two adults and one toddler with tip is $28.
