The three of us had a great lunch . It is our place to go to for a casual lunch . The chicken tikka masala is excellent as is the chocolate tart . The speckled hen on tap is a great english beer . To top it off the staff are lovely .
It's unfortunate that most of the staff at this restaurant lack manners. Their disrespectful way of speaking to each other behind the bar and on the floor was unacceptable. I felt sorry for the younger, kind staff members who deserve better treatment. I hope they find a workplace where they are valued. The older staff, especially the entitled man behind the bar, were condescending not only to customers but also to their younger coworkers. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
The heading/title of this review is the most important part. We arrived at the 6pm booking time and where shown to our table. After sitting for a short time drink orders where taken. Later the food was ordered, Arancini, Cheese Garlic Bread for starters and Cumberland Pork Sausages and Calamari for mains. The serving sizes and quality of what arrived in a short time left no impression that you would leave hungry. Now to the heading part of the review, Bree you are a true worker and one who obviously enjoys your occupation. Whilst at The Pig and Whistle, sitting in a location that the entire venue could be viewed, we watched as you seemed to be at every table to greet, serve the food and make sure the attending patrons left satisfied. I now say thank you to both You and The Pig and Whistle, because without workers like you, these locations wouldn't receive this type of review
