After you’ve climbed up the hill from Malaga, stopped off at the viewpoint and wandered round the Castle then you’ll definitely be ready to put your feet up, relax, have a drink and something to eat. Cafe is located inside the castle, with seating on a shady terrace, friendly staff and very reasonably priced food and drink especially considering location and the fact you’re a captive audience (obviously you’ll have to pay the e3.50 castle entrance fee but if you were visiting anyway then it’s an added bonus). I like the notice which states “we don’t have wifi talk to each other” and that really sums the place up. Adjacent rest rooms are surprisingly clean.
Once you are in a venue, you become a captive audience to whatever sad excuse for food is presented to you. I applaud the team at the Terrazita for not only offering an extremely tasty yet simple Spanish menu, but also for doing it at incredibly reasonable prices. I encourage anyone visiting the Castello de Gibralfaro not to worry about doing so around lunchtime you will also be pleasantly surprised by what you find at this quaint little cafe! Set on a terrasse in the centre of the castle, affording lots of shade, a light breeze and beautiful views, the cafe offers a selection of coffee and pastries for early morning snacking, and plenty of cool drinks. Served cafeteria style, the lunchtime fare is equally enjoyable, including several classic tapas items like olives and tortilla de batatas. We tucked into a platter of several dishes, along with beer and wine, and though the patio was full that day, we never felt rushed to leave our seats. Another plus to eating inside the castle walls was the fact that we were able to continue touring after our meal! Definitely worth the visit!
My husband and I recently enjoyed an afternoon visiting the Castillo de Gibralfaro and walking down the path to the Alcazabar. We were happy to discover the Terrazita restaurant before our descent. We ordered at the bar and sat down with our drinks to enjoy the view. Clean, easy and the view is spectacular!
Situated within the grounds of the Gibralfaro this lovely little cafe was a real shady haven and so so cheap. Having walked up the hillside from the city we quite expected to be paying top price for drinks and food but this was not the case. Beer served in glass tankards with handles, our male partners were delighted. A really nice place.
