Stopped in here because of its convenience after a long, hot morning touring the Palace. The service was fine and the drinks were cold. The patatas bravas were decent but the ham bocadillo left a bit to be desired. All a bit overpriced for what you got. Would not go out of my way to eat here although the service was friendly.
We called in here on our way back to our hotel and were greeted with a friendly waiter who enjoyed practicing his English with us. When he brought the drinks we were given free empanadillas, which were very nice. Our first choices of bocadillos weren't available so we opted for one with tortilla and one with jamon. There was nothing special about them, they were ok, but the bill for 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches, at just over 17 euros was a tad on the expensive side.
Many morning coffees and some tapa cane for many years allow me to think about this bar. They've always had a good deal with me, I don't remember that I've never bothered your attitude. It's a normal bar, almost always, with no major claims.
Happened by leaving Palacio Real. Good mussels, squid and boquerones. Simple but tasty chorizo sandwich and very decent wines, all in a plaza atmosphere. Also important to note, a quieter atmosphere than places nearby which translates to better table availability. Expensive beyond quality of the food, which loses 2 stars.
