My friend and I grabbed dinner here one evening on our way to pottery class downtown Martinsburg. We were pleasantly surprised I've been by this diner many times but never stopped in. It doesn't look like much from the outside. It's typical diner decor with tables, booths, or counter area love the old time diner style. I had burger and fries, my friend had a BLT and a side of fruit. We both thought our meals were pretty good. The fries were crinkle fries which you don't get at too many other diners so I thought that was nice. My friend had cantaloupe and mandarin oranges as a side (fresh fruit side) she said it was really good. The server was very friendly and patient with us as it was our first visit and we had questions about the menu then finally decided. Lots of choices for anyone. We'll definitely go back! Very reasonably priced.
Had taste for old fashioned country breakfast, after working all night; thought this restaurant would be just the the ticket. Got big glass of OJ/ ordered Biscuits and gravy- word to wise: DONT ORDER THIS! Biscuits were great- homemade but the GRAVY! Gray in color, loaded w grease, and had a strange aftertaste I dont remember associating w BISCUITS AND GRAVY (like soap! yuk left most untouched/ took me several hours for my stomach to settle Booths are small. w diner 60's nostalgic; place needs a good cleaning; w all of this, there was a ton of customers (waitress juggling several orders, familiar w most of them): Either this diner has a loyal local fan base, (dont tell me there aren't other diners to go to), or they're serving the good stuff to their repeat customers, (who give them rave reviews), serving the soapy aftertaste chow to first time (NON LOCAL) customers, (who they need not discourage their coming back for seconds! (I've had a similar experience another restaurant, favored by locals- served great food, but service was the WORST: they discouraged non locals to retun, while locals allowed to enjoy another floorshow, (waitress acts rude/abusive to the stranger in their midst Skip this restaurant (unless you know the staff)
Great place for a nostalgic breakfast. A lot of great atmosphere in the legendary location in town. Great food and great prices. A Sunday morning favorite for us
We stumbled across this restaurant and we were so glad we stopped. The service was wonderful, the waitress was very sweet and the food was amazing! We will return if we are ever in the area again.
