Louisiana - Matamoros

This is a restaurant that is trying to be Southern in Matamoros Mexico, the food is not a repeat not Cajun. But it is not bad my girlfriend had a garlic shrimp dish that was absolutely wonderful. I wanted a salad kind of like a shrimp Louie and what I ended up with was kind of like a shrimp and mayonnaise with some vegetables. It did not taste bad but I was disappointed. Please note please note. There was a review on line about a guy complaining that he had to ask for the bill......... YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO ASK FOR THE CHECK IN MEXICAN RESTAURANTS! THEY CONSIDER IT RUDE TO BRING YOU THE CHECK WITHOUT YOU ASKING. Our waiter was pleasant did speak some English but he was nice enough to let me practice my Spanish. It's worth a try but don't expect Cajun food

The restaurant is in a good location downtown with a good size parking. But it is a little antiquated. The servers are dressed in black and white suits giving the impression of fine dining. We didn't get asked if we needed another refill of coffee or anything else. We had to go up to the cashier to get our checks because of the lack of attention. The breakfast that we had fell a little short of the fine dining experience that they were portraying. It was ok but lack a little flavor and presentation for the price that we paid. We will be back for lunch or dinner some day to see if maybe it was just a bad morning.

Claramente un lugar de tradicion en Matamoros. La comida bastante rica, buenas porciones y el servicio muy amable.

Primera vez que acudí, el lugar es agradable, el servicio estuvo fenomenal, los meseros siempre atentos, la comida fue buena, pedí un chuletón que si lo hicieron al término que lo pedí y estuvo delicioso, la única razón que no contemplo correcta es el cruce del estacionamiento trasero a la parte del restaurante, ya que uno debe cruzar literalmente por la cocina, donde uno puede interrumpir a los encargados y además pues no siento que sea correcto para la administración y empleados de esa área pasar a los comensales por la cocina.

Muy buena comida, le hace falta, un concepto mas actual
