J. Gilbert’s – Wood Fired Steaks Seafood Mclean

We decided to try J. Gilbert?s for our anniversary. When we arrived the hostess acknowledged us and I requested a table for two. Another couple comes in after us and the hostess tells us to wait while she seats them first. The couple ignored her so were seated. We had the calamari as an appetizer, it was overcooked rubbery and chewy like it had been in the microwave, we mentioned it to the waitress and she kind of shrugged it off. We had the seafood mix and lobster mac and cheese for the entree. Seafood mix was 2 regular sized shrimp, 1 small scallop and a piece of salmon. The crab cake was no where near jumbo as advertised. The lobster mac and cheese had 2-3 specs of lobster and we were also up charged for it. Not what I expected for the experience and the money.

Our food was perfectly made and delicious, and the portions were perfect for us to feel satisfied. We made a reservation for a booth and the covid prevention measures seemed very well-respected, which made us very much comfortable with the place as well. Thank you for giving us a lovely New Year's eve dinner!

I've been going to J.Gilbert's for a really long time. Their lunch AND dinner are both fantastic! The food here is superb and the portions are perfect. Their steak is amazing and I absolutely love their crab cakes!! It does get packed pretty quickly on weekends so just be sure to make a reservation in advance!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Not only was the food absolutely phenomenal, all of the staff was. Everyone that works here, they?re all SO nice and friendly especially the servers they feel like family. I would have posted pictures of dessert had we not eaten it so quickly.

This restaurant wasthe wow factor! From the food, to hosts and our waitress. That was completely team work and it showed and improved. My first time there and I will be back again. When my co workers and family and friends ask for a great place dinner and a celebration. This will be my one place to go. Love it! Keep up the great work????????
