Price is a little bit higher than similar coffee shops. A fair election of pastries, cakes and sandwiches as well. The staff...are not very friendly and no one speaks a work of English. Kind of difficult to place a specialty order.
Good coffee, with good coffee food. Banana bread and Croissants are fresh. Sit along the front to enjoy the coffee and watch the park.
Not much is open early in Parque Lleras where people party all night long, so for early risers in need of coffee/pastry internet, Juan Valdez Cafe is an excellent choice. Styled in the manner of U.S. starbuck type coffee house, it has 5-6 sizes...of cups, from espresso to grande, Cold Brew, Lattes, Cappuchino, and a large selection of specialty hot and cold coffee drinks. And of course, free internet!
So my very first visit to Medellin was in 2010 so 10 years have passed and when I find myself at a mall in Medellin and what a good coffee Juan Valdez Cafe seldom let's me down. Back in 2010 when I stayed in Poblado...area the Juan Valdez at Park Lleras was my go to place (see photo). It is still there and I do stop in when I am in the area visiting friends. Since living in the north end of Medellin for the past 3 years I have my go to Juan Valdez located in the Niquia Commercial center (Puerto del Norte) and as I shop there often I enjoy a cup of coffee probably twice each and every week. I also got hooked on the Juan Valdez Drip coffee for my home. It comes in a box of 5 and each drip is packaged so that it retains its freshness. I pay about 6.800 pesos for the box of 5 and now find myself enjoying every morning. The service is usually good to better than normal. I recommend Juan Valdez as I am a coffee drinker myself and always enjoy a good cup of joe!
