What a hidden gemThe District burger was probably one of the best I've ever eaten.
Great beer, great service great foodWhat more can you ask for when you need to take the edge off from a Costco shop.
It seems typical of Fridays when I have a long drive home to Sherwood Park. It was mid afternoon and I was looking for an excuse to linger longer (note the poetic writing), knowing the drive would go better with a full stomach. I almost drove past but noticed District Bar & Grill at the last minute and swung into the parking lot.I was greeted by a very cheery Madison that told me to grab a seat anywhere. It was 1:00pm and I was only one of three occupied tables inside, with one table seated outside. But quiet is good when I am preparing my mind for a long run back to base. I ordered the steak sandwich. It came with an excellent soup that combined large noodles, pieces of chicken and cracked pepper floating over the surface. Yum!I was still looking for something to set the right framework for the highway and, dessert would work with a refill on my Coke. It was three large scoops of what I assume was blueberry ice cream covered with fresh blueberries and crumbled mini donuts. Who uses crumbled mini donuts to top a dessert? Who even has crumbled mini donuts? This is not a regular menu item but take the time to ask if you pop in, you will not be sorry. Thank you Madison and staff. You made sure that I was more than ready to step out into the 33 degree heat and turn northward to complete my week on the road.
Had a great time at District. Yummy food and really nice servers. Like the decor and will be back to support the local business owners!
