There are the two sides, we sat in the East. Got there rather early so only a few people and grabbed the big table for our large group. The bartender was very amusing and talked us through the cocktail menu (first drink was spot on). Love the inspiration for the names! Got busier as night went on but still attentive waiters/tresses and it was loud but not deafening. One of our group had the idea of replicating the Creation of Adam with the Lenin painting and it was spectacular. There's a bar food menu to accompany the alcohol too. Will go back.
Very authentic. It really does feel like you’re in Berlin. Inside it’s separated between the communist and capitalist side which was an interesting experience. The drinks were really good too.
Another Melbourne institution, we chose to go all fancy and sit in the west. Amaretto Sour was served in a very small cocktail glass but made well, nonetheless.
The Berlin bar is a fantastic hidden gem. Situated down a little alley in the city, you knock three times and wait for access. I won’t ruin all the fun. Add this to your list and experience it for yourself. 5/5!!!
Really enjoyed the themed concept of capitalism vs capitalism. Highlight of the night was definitely Will marks the magician. Friends really enjoyed his tricks and actually called the bar before we went to make sure he was performing that night.
