Hannah's Bar at Epocha - Melbourne

Nice place. Intimate lighting. Attentive service until the mains were served, then ignored for approx 1 hour. Mains plates eventually cleared, then left waiting again 15 mins. Though about walking out, but decided to order desert. Waiting again. 1 manager and 2 waiters simply not enough for 30 diners. Left feeling very disappointed, birthday dinner ruined.

This restaurant is in a beautiful old terrace opposite the gardens, it's a very cosy space just outside the city perimeter, cosy, relaxed, however with a fine dining feel. It's a great place to go with friends to enjoy the shared food experience, and the cheese trolley and dessert trays that come out add something unique where you can choose what grabs your eye and have it served up. The service is very good - maybe a little stiff. It did not feel as warm and engaging however was polished and efficient. Would definitely return, they also do a sunday roast.

A nice place on a cold blowy winters night. What attracts is the sharing menu which makes a whole lot of sense when dining in a large group. The proportions are large. From meat eaters, to pescatorians to vegans, all tastes are catered for. The drinks menu is also worthy of a good glance. The service is courteous and attentive and the atmosphere is quietly sophisticated with a touch of old. Enjoy it you won't be sorry.

We had family dinner at Epocha restaurant. First of all I have to admit that service level was outstanding.Design of restaurant is elegant authentic mix of old and modern features. Low level of lighting and great choice of background music creates very comfortable atmosphere. Restaurant's menu is also interesting mix of old style dishes in modern interpretation.Range of dishes isn't wide, but all of them are high quality. Deserts " from trolley " are also delicious.I would have only one complain that size of shared portions are not enough to share.

We had a delicious meal. As the delightful waiter suggested we shared two small meals and two large meals. As there were four of us this was plenty. All of the meals were delicious and the dessert was excellent. We will be going back here
