Previous Review: I visited Mitcham Social with my extended family to celebrate multiple birthdays. The venue, located in an old industrial area, exuded rustic charm. Despite it being a Sunday night, there was still a lively atmosphere. We had a large table for 12, but it could have easily accommodated 20. The menu featured a variety of pizzas and American-style bar snacks. Most of us ordered the wildfire pizza and the garlic and prawn pizza, both of which were delicious with bubbly crusts. We also enjoyed buffalo chicken wings with chips and a blue cheese dipping sauce. The wings were spicy and messy – the perfect combination. We sipped on pints while Kellie tried the Southside spritz cocktail on tap. Unfortunately, our evening was cut short at 8pm due to closing time on a Sunday night. The venue is kid-friendly, with an ice cream counter and play area. Cocktails were around $20 and pints were $13, with a reasonable wine selection available.
I had the Lamb shoulder special this weekend and it was amazing! The slow roasted lamb with gravy, roasted vegetables, garlic bread, and dessert was the best Sunday dinner I've ever had. The whole experience was easy and clean - great job to the staff!
Great restaurant that has brought a great city like buzz to Melbourne's outer suburbs! Mitcham Social has a lot of variety within its menu, but I can't help but keep coming back to their woodfire pizzas! Their chocolatini (choc martini) dessert drink is something everyone must try at least once! Keep up the great work guys!
Friends made a group booking. The venue has a great vibe along with some great cocktails on the menu. The woodfired pizza is great and perfect for sharing.
Proof that you can't judge a book by its cover, Mitcham Social at first appears to be another warehouse in an industrial estate; but on closer inspection turns out to be the most fun you can have in this suburb. The huge space has been converted into an open space catering to small and large groups looking for a few drinks and some delicious food. The bar and kitchen span one wall, whilst there are also a designated kids play zone, pool table and outdoor seating as well. <br/ <br/ The owners have created a relaxed and comfortable vibe, and the staff here are just as chilled and friendly. They were helpful in suggesting cocktails and food recommendations, and we happily settled in for an afternoon of fun. <br/ <br/ The menu is varied, with lots of wood fired pizzas, burgers and small tapas style dishes. They also have an amazing special which is a massive lamb shoulder on a whole ciabatta with Camembert, gravy, chips and sides. More than enough to feed six people, all for $100. One was ordered for a table next to ours and it was seriously massive. <br/ <br/ As there were only two of us, we bypassed the special and instead ordered the famous sticky frued chicken and a pumpkin pizza. <br/ <br/ The pizza was fantastic, with that smoky taste that comes from a wood fired oven. Oozing with cheese and sweet pumpkin, it really was delicious. The standout dish was the chicken. So crispy with a sweet and spicy sticky sauce. Absolutely finger licking good, and so addictive. The chicken was still moist and it was an extremely flavoursome dish. <br/ <br/ At the suggestion of our waiter, we couldn't resist dessert, and we chose the donuts with Nutella cream. Oh my. This platter was just divine. Hot cinnamon dough balls to dip into a sweet chocolate cream... a marriage made in heaven. Messy, but oh so worth it. <br/ <br/ The whole time we were here we were surrounded by groups and families enjoying the weekend sunshine in this cool venue. The staff were busy, but still efficient and everything arrived promptly. We were told about their Sunday sessions which include live music, so we are keen to return another day to enjoy the awesome atmosphere, service and food again.
