I have visited several times to grab a quick meal to go, but during my most recent visit, I decided to try the sushi train. I was seated immediately during the off-peak time. The presentation of the dishes on the train was excellent, and the chefs were still making fresh plates even during a slow period. The sushi was fresh and delicious. I would rate Sushi Nori out of 5 stars. While the sushi train has a good selection, the prices are slightly higher compared to other restaurants.
I really enjoy Sushi Nori! The sushi rolls are much fresher than other sushi chains I've tried. My go-to is the salmon pack, which is perfectly portioned and topped with a delicious mayo/sauce. After hearing mixed reviews about the sushi train, I'll stick to ordering the sushi packs. Overall, Sushi Nori is one of my top sushi spots in Melbourne.
I ordered 3 maki rolls for $4 each, which were large and filling, offering good value. They were very fresh, thanks to the high turnover and regular replacement. I was given 4 soy “fish” and a large tub of ginger, which was thinly sliced, crunchy, and pleasantly spicy. The salmon and avocado sushi had a thick serving of salmon that was fresh and soft. The tuna and avocado sushi had a generous amount of tuna and mayo, very fresh. The vegetable sushi included onion and carrot karaage, with a generous size and nice crunch, along with lettuce, matchstick cucumber, and was interesting and delicious. I would definitely return just for the vegetable and karaage ones, as they were the highlight of the meal. In January 2019, I had a Grilled salmon bento box for $15 for lunch. The service was quick and friendly, with limited seating other than at their sushi train. The bento box included a generous and tasty portion of salmon, a good omelette, prawn gyoza, crispy prawn, charred asparagus, cauliflower, spicy corn, carrot and onion mix, crumbed mushroom, edamame, green and red salad, and rice. Overall, it was quite pleasant for a food court meal, offering a substantial serve for someone with a moderate appetite.
The red salmon sushi and salmon sashimi packs are amazingly fresh and reasonably priced. Over time with several visits, I found the quality has been always remained very consistent.
Eout<br/ <br/ it was the end of day sale and I got 2 of their rolls for 14 dollars, which was quite worth it. The rolls were more on the saucy side but I quite enjoyed it. The rice was nicely cooked even though it was the end of day. The seaweed still kept its integrity and the filling was nicely balanced as the sauce wasnt too overwhelming. I had the one with spicy scallop and salmon, dont remember the name, but I preferred this one over the salmon king which was more of a teriyaki like sauce over spicy mayo. That being said, I would love to try their sushi train, but it seem to be more on the pricey side. Might just stick with their end of day sale instead!
