I've been to high-end sushi spots that charge exorbitantly for just okay sushi, but this place is unbeatable in both quality and affordability. You can tell that this restaurant is genuine, letting the food speak for itself rather than relying on flashy decor like many others. Honestly, just go eat here! I drove an hour just to try it, and I would happily make the drive again because it's that good!
1. **Menu and Pricing**: It seemed they had increased their prices, but the small, hand-written sticky notes indicating the new prices felt unprofessional and gave off a cheap impression. This place is not a cheap restaurant; while the exterior and signage looked low-budget, the interior was actually quite nice and spacious. 2. **Spicy Salad**: We ordered the Spicy Salad, expecting shrimp and octopus, but instead received a dish that only contained imitation crab and cucumber. I later realized that they had served us Kani Salad, which I don’t enjoy because I'm not fond of cucumber. On a positive note, the beer glasses were cold, and the presentation of the dishes was appealing. The Scallop Nigiri, although a bit pricey at $10, was very good. The Dragon Roll was listed without cucumber, yet it included cucumber, which again was disappointing for me. I may have had elevated expectations after reading other patrons' reviews, but I would consider giving this place another try in the future.
Despite its name and outside appearance, the inside of the restaurant is very pleasant. The food is above average. Sushi is not piled up with too much rice, fish were reported as fresh. The veggie sushi was good. Not a lot of veggie options on the menu.
Definitely the best restaurant in Mentor! The sushi is absolutely delicious, and the staff is fantastic. It’s my favorite spot for date nights!
Great place. A tad pricey and the food took a long time but the quality made it worth the wait. I had scallop yaki sobe and a crab cucumber appetizer. Another had shrimp fried rice. Mother had beef fried rice. The other diner had shrimp teriyaki. We hada pot of very green green tea that tasted wonderful. All of the food was superb except the crunchy roll. I do not know what theyused for the crunch but it had zero flavor. Everyone had enough to brings food home. We plan to return and try more. Oh and Iwould be remiss if I didn't say glowing things about the incredible staff. Friendliest I have seen in some time.
