I had the American equivalent of a thin cut pork chop, bread and gravy, and hash browns. It was very tasty, the prices were good, and I would recommend this cafe to anyone else visiting Merida, Spain.
If you are looking for a ‘menu del día’ then at €12 this is great value, though no pretensions to luxury. A friendly service from the waitress. For starters I had berenjenas (sliced aubergine fried in a light batter, served with molasses and melted goats cheese—delicious. For main I had merluza a la romana (grilled hake) then flan and cream for pudding. And a large glass of red wine. If it had been a warmer evening I would have dined on the outside terrace overlooking the Roman Temple of Diana.
Food was good, price was ok (10 EUR for entrance, main course and dessert plus wine or water). Service on the other hand was bad, the waitress was rude and very impatient.
Barato y comer muy bien poner los platos muy llenos. para llenarme.
