Firstly, our bartender is a Lancaster, PA native where we are from and took phenomenal care of us. The attention to detail during every aspect of our cocktails and meal was superb. Unknown to us our pasta flight that we ordered off of the happy hour menu (10/10 would recommend) was not served on time to the kitchen’s very high standard. The FOH manager apologized for the delay and ended up comping this portion of the bill, an unnecessary but amazing gesture. The food was out of this world and the cocktails were the perfect balance of well crafted with a great punch. We enjoyed the happy hour pasta flight, marinated olives, a late for the train cocktail, house old fashioned, Paloma, and classic Negroni. Every item was amazing. I cannot express how great this experience was and it will surely be the FIRST stop we make off of the train from the airport the next time we return to Denver. For all those that have hated on this place, stop being pretentious, this restaurant is second to none. Also, in reading one of the reviews, if you order a well done steak meal at an establishment like this with the culinary expertise that the kitchen staff provides, you should be immediately escorted out. Then have the audacity to complain about it, unreal. This is coming from someone currently wearing a backwards hat and gas station sunglasses…get over yourself Celine. Tavernetta is worth anybody in Denver visiting, you will not have a bad experience.
Entree's are not good. There were chunks of shell with the lobster, and the lamb was 90% fat. The starters and deserts are good, but not worth the price. The service however, is amazing.
Our meal was just alright. The piatti di formaggi was great! It had a pretty good selection of cheeses, some jam, and some vinegar. The servers also described each of the cheeses, which was nice. The risotto al salto was a pretty.. unique experience. It was kind of citrusy and fresh if that makes sense, which isn’t a bad thing. I’ve just never had a risotto that tasted like that before. The agnello was also pretty unique. It was a little underwhelming though, and it wasn’t exactly very flavorful in my opinion. The tiramisu was heavenly. It was a salty and sweet experience. However… I found a hair in my tiramisu!! What a shame. That wasn’t the first mishap we had either. One of the other members of my party ordered the manzo, a steak dish, well done. Unfortunately, it was pink in the middle! I don’t think that’s very well done. Although the food was just okay, the service was extraordinary! Our server, Brent, really went above and beyond. Everyone there was really very kind. Overall, it was pretty okay.
We enjoyed an amazing dinner here on our last night in Denver. The ambiance and the service was top notch. Megan was our server and was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable on all of the food and wine. We had the stuffed squash blossoms and home made focaccia for appetizers followed by the cavatelli and pallia e forno for our entrees. Again the cocktails were perfect and we really appreciated the selection of unique Italian wines. We finished our delicious dinner with their homemade blackberry guava sorbet. Would highly recommend Tavernetta and hope to return on our next trip to Denver!!
I travel often and try a lot of restaurants… but rarely do I have an experience so great. Kevin was my server and he was wonderful. The rest of the staff was all well trained and great. My girlfriend and I loved our food. Delicious and perfectly portioned/timed. Thank you Tavernetta!
