It had a nice kick to it, but was still delicious. We opted for items from the lunch menu and were pleasantly surprised at how quickly our food arrived. We decided on the fiesta burrito and chicken quesadilla, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our server was friendly and attentive. If La Carreta was located in our hometown, we would definitely become regular customers.
The Chicken Mazatlan was delicious, although the shrimp in it was a little bland. The service was a bit slow for a Mexican restaurant, but they were busy and it was Friday at 7pm. The chorizo cheese dip had a great taste, but it was a bit thin - definitely needed some napkins!
I read the other reviews and found the need to write an accurate one. If you want real, authentic Mexican food in NWI, this is the place. The portions are very generous and the food great. There is a reason why it is always packed. We have had just about everything on the menu and have enjoyed almost everything. The enchiladas suizas are awesome, as are the Texas Nachos. Their white cheese sauce is amazing. The shrimp tacos are great too. The margaritas are a little hit or miss, but the pina colada margarita is to die for. The review that talked about going to Jalapenos for real Mexican is laughable, that place is overrated, overpriced and completely Americanized Mexican food. It isn't terrible, but not authentic. Also, the review that talked about the manager trying to rip them off by adding an extra tip seems doubtful. The place is family owned and the manager is always there and very accommodating. I highly recommend it.
If you like it spicy.... I can not eat spicy food, but I like mexican food! <br/ <br/ Quesadilla I like the Chicken ones! I recommend getting a cup of the white melted cheese and dip! <br/ <br/ Burrito I get the Fiesta chicken burrito and instead of the spicy red sauce I get the Melted white cheese on it! <br/ <br/ my fieonce gets the beef fiesta burito she loves it but I think the beef has a bland almost went bad taste. EVERY TIME!<br/ <br/ We eat here often. Hacienda is a place we like equally as much! There are more authentic places I am sure but this isnt bad!
Pretty Good Busy Busy Place. The service wasn't bad they were very busy when we went. I had the beef fajitas they were good but a bit over cooked. Drinks were always coming to the table but the check took awhile other than that all was good.
