The rooms must be updated in any case, especially, bath. so far is the best hotel to stay in sankt petersburg because of the location. Maybe it's something overpriced for what they get, but the situation is literally everything. overall it is a nice place to stay.
The hotel has actually gone in a downward spiral since our last visit. first our first arrived after midnight, exhausted and wanted only a good one. the AC system in the room has stopped working (it has not worked at all, with and no one interferes with the review) for those of those who do not know the temperatures in the summer are here as humid and hot as miami. the night was unbearable (we did not sleep) and only the next late afternoon the problem was easily fixed. the hotel has not offered any compensation and or we would be in another room for the night. the room service has also deteriorated, but they can hope to add this to a new change of culinary staff. if not, then after check-out the hotel incorrectly calculates and accuses us of some mini bar elements. We didn't. but we had to get back a flight and we're in a big hurry. the glockenjunge never showed up to help with the baggage and go quickly, I agreed to pay for items that were never consumed by myself. it was buried by its extortion as tactics and complete disregard and support for guests. really a terrible experience and will never report in the future there.
Amazing visit in this hotel! the staff was friendly and some were very friendly! there are many different restaurants that rooms are great, the service was also wonderful. the spa is beautiful! what a wonderful stay.
My experience here overall was positive. The service, the food and the grandeur of the building (very elegant building with fabulous interiors and common parts) are its pluses. The rooms are the weak part of the hotel. The rooms are small with outdated bathrooms (I was in an expensive terrace room). Frankly the shower is far from any five star. When they prepare the bed for you they leave the pillows and the bed cover well folded on the floor near the bed which I thought was odd (not in the cupboard where you would expect them). The food was excellent. The service was good too (although a huge line at the check-in should be avoided in a luxury hotel). I think the new owner of Belmond will plan eventually a room refurbishment and that will address the present issues.
