As many other reviews mention... the food is moderate, bakery is stable, and service is terrible. The place must also be cleaned more often and more thoroughly. I might have overlooked some of these problems, but regular recruitment from staff is simply unacceptable. Less than 10 minutes away you will find a much more tasty, clean and friendly place North Shore Boulangerie in Shorewood.
The food is not bad, but the service is consistently slow and rude. For some reason, my family likes to go here and it is within walking distance so that I am exposed to experiencing this place far too often. The big irritants today had to argue about berries on pancakes. It says they come with berries and you can choose to add blueberries or strawberries for a charge. The pancakes came without berries and I just had to argue to pay extra for some.
Nice place, delicious food, great bakery selection. We sat on the outdoor terrace and it was a perfect opportunity to spend a summer morning. I look forward to trying and returning other menu items.
The coffee and tea selection was very decent, but the food was the right winner here. I had bilberry pancakes while my husband had the French toast, and both dishes were thrilled. The French toast was made mainly with baguette bread, making it both soft and chewing in a unique way that I would like to re-emulate at home. The pork sausage sides were also quite nice with a bit of grill marks added to the texture experience. We ate outside on a beautiful summer morning at their provided terrace tables and it was one of the most beautiful breakfast dates I had with my partner in a long time. It will certainly be our new go-to sit-down breakfast place right away.
This is a quick in and out cafe. We enjoyed our sandwich, pastas, and salads. It could use a bit of a cleaning, but the outdoor seating is great.
