Sidewalks in Miramichi roll up at 9:30 pm apparently, the other 2 places we tried first weren't serving food. I remembered Bistro 140 from last year so we tried there. they were about to close but kept the kitchen open for the 5 of us. everyone was VERY pleased with their meal, although one dish with curry was a little on the "too spicy" side.my dish was linguine with scallops, it was delicious.Marcy did a GREAT job looking after us. recommend that you check it out, and hope Marcy is your server. :)
I returned to the Bistro for a private party in their bar area in the rear of the restaurant. The room was a perfect combination of intimate surroundings, cozy bar area, big screen for sports fans, and an amazing dance floor. The service was outstanding. The food was beyond my expectations. Even the simplest item on the menu was prepared in a gourmet way. Our group ordered pasta, ribs, burgers, mussels, bruschetta, salads, and decadent desserts. I was very impressed. I will return.
Enjoyed good food, very pleasant staff. Was there for lunch with a group of friends.Atmosphere was quiet and conducive to conversation
Belle surprise, de passage à Miramichi, nous nous sommes arrêtés au bistrot 140 et avons découvert un endroit très sympa avec une cuisine fine et délicatement relevée, un accueil chaleureux et une bonne soirée.
Having just had lunch at Bistro 140, I can recommend it. However, it was not as good as it could have been. My wife and I both ordered the Penne Arrabiata, but we got a linguini and marinara. Don’t get me wrong; the dishes we got were pretty good, but not as spicy as Arrabiata, which we love. We only kept the dishes because at first we thought the kitchen screwed up and replaced the Penne with Linguini, but still gave us our arrabiata. We pointed out the mistake to the server, who apologized and offered us some pepper to spice it up, but we decided to let the matter go. Unfortunately, we were kind of expecting the restaurant to give us a discount, as this dish was nowhere near what we ordered and $15 for pasta isn't exactly "mid-range", but we still paid full price. I think a comp on one of the dishes or one of the desserts we had would have gone a long we to improving our dining experience as this is not a "cheap eats" restaurant. That said, I will say the restaurant, including its bathrooms, were clean, the staff was friendly, and the desserts were great!
