Off the Vine Bistro - Missouri City

We had a great experience at this charming little restaurant connected to a shopping center. As soon as we arrived, my wife and I were greeted and promptly seated, honoring our reservation. The menu is extensive with a variety of tasty options, though some items can be a bit costly, especially for wine by the glass. We recommend visiting on Wednesdays for their $3 wine glass special. We ordered the beef gyro, a burger, braised short rib, and bread pudding. Each dish was delicious and perfectly seasoned, bursting with flavor. We highly recommend this place.

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant because it was new and advertised delicious farm to table healthy fresh food. Noting could be further from the truth. First of all, we were the only ones there, which in retrospect should have been an obvious sign to us. The mushrooms were burned, the cauliflower was microwaved to the point where the meal was literally too hot to eat and stuck to the side of the serving bowl. The caprese skewers we too small to serve in most restaurants. The hamburger was dry and tough. The side order of sweet potato chips arrived after the meal. The healthy turkey wrap was actually processed turkey slices, the kind you would find in a package at a supermarket (which I suspect is exactly where it came from). Despite sending food back because it was clearly overcooked or in the case of the turkey, processed meat, we were charged full price for everything ordered (despite not being able to even eat it). The was easily one of the worse meals I have ever had in a restaurant.

The food was unique and delicious. The owner, who waited on us, was very personable and pleasant. A little bit pricey but worth the special tastes and fresh ingredients.

The place is hidden in the back corner of a strip shopping center but is very well done with a charming owner and good food and service at a reasonable price.

Great place for foodies in Missouri City and Sugar Land! All local produce and very unique preparations! Great wine list too.
