The bagels, lox and eggs, the pastrami, and coffee are better than my delicious memories of NYC. Even more delicious than the food are the courteous, playful personalities of everyone, everyone we encountered. Kohn's is on our permanent “must-stop” list for our St. Louis visits.
Very impressed! I went here for the first time today with two of my friends for lunch. I have always wanted to try it. We walked up to the deli counter to order sandwiches and the man behind the counter welcomed us with some pastrami to try. It was fantastic! We all ordered the pastrami sandwich on rye, a corn beef to share, potato salad and coleslaw to share. The man took our orders with a welcoming cheer. We used to live in St. Louis and have missed Kohn's Corned Beef sandwiches so much!!! I am so happy to have visited and had an amazing sandwich. If you haven't tried a corned beef sandwich from Kohn's you need to go right now and try one. They are absolutely the best! I can't wait to come back again to St. Louis just got one of these sandwiches.
Meat k’nish was nice and you can taste the kosher difference. The salami was pure and delicious! Will be back, thank you!
I've never been a fan of pastrami, until I tried the Killer Pastrami at Kohn's. The atmosphere walking in is welcoming. They have a huge kosher deli and bakery with most everything made in house. Definitely feels like one of the famous Jewish bakeries you'd find in NYC. I hope the new owners keep all their traditions and recipes alive and well. Even if you aren't crazy about pastrami, give the kill pastrami a try, you're certain to be pleasantly surprised.
