They have a deli, but they don't make sandwiches. delicatessen Definition of deli : a store where ready-to-eat food products (such as cooked meats, sandwiches and prepared salads) are sold : delicatessen You shuffle off to the deli and pick up a pastrami-on-rye and an egg cream.
Friendliest and most professional suoer market employees you'll come across. They don't just give you the directions to where things are, they take you there and are very polite.
Best option in Moab is true. Found it strange though that they have an entire deli but refuse to slice meats and cheeses on certain days.
Stopped here on vacation and found a well stocked and competitively priced supermarket. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even have us the card discount.
I had a tough experience yesterday morning. I am 69 and was verbally threatened by an employee. There was no price label on Roma tomatoes, so I asked the guy stocking(Jeff what the price was. He and I looked first for a fallen label, but no signs of it, so he looked it up in back and told me the price (well lower than other tomatoes . These are typically the least expensive tomatoes out of 4 or so choices (all others had price labeled clearly . I asked him if he was a stocker or the produce manager and he said assistant manager . I said would you please bring this up in a meeting ... that all too often this kind of thing happens in the marketplace today where you are lead toward buying higher priced items (because the business will make more money off the higher priced items then picked . It bothers me as a senior on a pretty low social security income, and I see it repeatedly. For another example, items being higher priced once you get to the register (stores have the time to put the higher price in the register but not on the aisle labels! . I have NEVER been undercharged at a store, but approximately weekly, or biweekly, see an overcharge at some store.Well, he was very offended and started arguing with me about it. I said I was local and shopped here and in nearby City Markets regularly. He said it 's always locals complaining about prices, never tourists . Wow... this is the only full chain grocery store in Moab and locals have alot of trouble getting decent prices instead of tourist prices (and I realize we have to live with that . BUT FOR FOOD, and this being the only big box grocery store, it is very important to locals and a difficult problem. He was mad, didn 't care my points, and then said in a threatening, mad tone I will see you later . I said what? And he repeated it again even pointing a finger at me. It is common knowledge that this means I will f up you or your car or something when I see you around town. The manager or produce manager (Dillon was a few minutes later on the scene and he talked with Jeff awhile and a few minutes later he and I talked and I explained the whole situation as described above. He assured me that was not City Market 's policy. I feel I must report this in case Jeff follows thru on the threat at some point in the future.
