How is this place still open? I used to LOVE coming to the Bierstube. Growing up on the QC and frequenting this place during college was great. However, I’ve since moved away and try to visit the Bierstube at least a couple times a year and am disappointed every time largely because they aren’t open when they say they are! Today is a great example their website states they’re open from 11am 9pm (much shorter hours than in years past but fine). My wife and I showed up right around noon for lunch and the door was locked with all the lights off. The door still said they opened at 11 and nothing online indicated they’d have different hours. We called a few times and no one answered the phone and there want a message telling us the hours had changed from what they are online. There have been other time where it’s the reverse I’ve showed up at 7:30 for dinner to be told the kitchen had already closed it was a Saturday. So in my recent experience, I can come for lunch and I can’t come for dinner so do I try to come at like 3pm and hope they’re open/are serving food? I want to come back and give them the umpteenth opportunity because the food is usually fantastic and the beer selection is huge, but they’re never open when they say they are and it’ll be hit or miss if I can even get food if they are. Maybe this is just a one off since I’m an out of Townes, but for god sake update your hours, have your staff answer the phone, and commit to being there when you advertise that you are.
We we’re there Tuesday night 9-6 and had the absolute worst experience. not only was the food disgusting, but it was almost as cold inside as it was outside. The only thing good about the 100$ I spent was the waitress, she was amazing. except for the fact she knew the soup was disgusting and still let my 83 year old grandma order it lol it’s sad when you try to go small business but the food and stuff is so expensive and gross it’s just not worth it.
The schnitzel is excellent! We went here after my mom's funeral service. Our bartender was amazing! She was fun and made us feel great on a hard day. The food and drinks were perfect! We are hoping to have time to go back before having to travel back to Oregon.
This was the second time this year and again a below average visit. I feel like their new system is part of the problem. It goes from delays getting gift cards (paper gift certificates would have been so much faster) to ordering and hoping that your bill was correct. They have what I call these knuckle busters that the waitress ' use. When it was time for our bill, the waitress said $27.65. I 'm like, ...and I know this because I should take your word for it? How about you print me off a bill and let me look it over first. Good thing I waited because my sandwich was on my buddies ticket and his was on mine and then my beer was on our friends at the other end of the table. Just as we were trying to straighten that out, the table behind us had their bill incorrect. Needless to say with the two visits there this year, there is just too much good competition in the area. Still good, just not great.
