Accessible. The food was absolutely delicious and satisfying after a long day of skiing. The portions were generous and the service was friendly. Would definitely recommend trying their poutine if you're in the area!
I have tried their poutine three times, but I have never enjoyed it. Until today, it was at least an average poutine.
The last we ate at Smokes was in Aug 2012. There was so many choices, and the poutine was packed to almost to the top of the open boxes. Not this time around. There were a handful of choices only. We had the bacon and the Montreal smoked meat poutines. Decent amount of bacon, but not packed with fries ( it was a small order). The large Montreal smoked meat poutine did not come with much meat. It was barely enough to feed two people. Good thing I had my son's leftover bacon poutine to finish off. It used to be that large poutine would feed two people very well. Not anymore. It seems this Smoke's conforms to the Toronto franchises - give the people only enough to eat and they will be happy. Not really. Too bad.
The vegetarian poutine - with mushroom gravy - was okay. Being a poutine virgin, I have no comparison. Still prefer crispy fries with salt and ketchup. Had to try it!
