The staff are friendly and fortunately we got a table right away in this small, cozy place. The food was tasty. We are pleased this restaurant was near our lodging.
Cozy, intimate atmosphere (reminding me of Paris), friendly attentive staff (not reminding me of Paris) and excellently prepared food at a reasonable price. The food was delicious and particular attention was given to the presentation. After a delicious starter, a beautifully garnished and delectable cream of carrot soup, our expectations were lifted... and the main course did not disappoint. We had the charbroiled flank steak in pepper sauce (bavette au poivre) and the cod in a creamy tarragon sauce (morue au estragon) with a crisp, varied salad and a portion of crispy (and non greasy!) homemade shoestring fries, skin on, served with yellow mayonnaise. Both main courses were a pleasant surprise. Flavorful, generous portions, excellent preparation. The waitress and the chef were quite friendly and checked often to make sure we were satisfied. With the meal, I had a Quebec microbrasserie red ale by Griffon, although Belle Geuele, a great alternate choice, is also offered. Note these red ales are far better than that tasteless generic brew from Ontario you find everywhere- (Rickarts, you know who you are) . I was impressed by the selection of wines, spirits and drinks available in such a small venue. At the end of the meal, the chef, in a form of greeting of a first-time guest, brought us each an edifying little digestif 'Muscat des Papes' to properly finish what was an excellent meal and an enchanting experience. I will return and would highly recommend this little gem of a bistro to anyone.
This bistro has a very intimate, neighborhood restaurant feeland the food was delicious! We ended up sitting at the bar since all seats were taken even
Even though it is a small restaurant, the food is terrific especially the Bavette and Filet d' Agneau au fromage de chevre. Service is very good. The restaurant is on La Riviere street in Montreal centre-sud and you can park easily in that area at...no cost. The restaurant is small and you would need to reserve to be sure to have a table.
I live right next to this little jewel and I was never disappointed. My meal is the Steak Bavette in Table d'hôte, the best Bavette in town. The service is impeccable even if it is busy.
