I found the portions to be quite small and ordinary, with only a small piece of meat in each dish. The meal also included a tiny portion of rice. Overall, I felt that the meal was worth no more than $10. The naan bread was good, but the restaurant was so cold that we were left feeling frozen. In my opinion, there are better Indian restaurants available for the same price.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant and will not be returning. Make sure to carefully review your bill as I was surprised by additional charges for accompaniments that were not clearly mentioned when I ordered. The server also didn't notify me that they were not included with my dish and even chose the accompaniments for me without my consent. I was not impressed with the inattentive service.
The prices listed are not honored. Takeaway prices are 25% higher than the prices on the menu at the restaurant. This practice is unacceptable.
Last night, Saturday January 13, 2024, I went to the Lobby bar, a room adjoining the Sandhu restaurant, to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday. The food was okay but I was very irritated by the inability to tip the amount I wanted. The options started at 18%, which meant that I had to pay $94 for a very average meal and glass of wine. Red wine served at $11 a glass sells for around $16 a bottle at the SAQ. I will never return to this restaurant and will not recommend it under any circumstances. Perfect strategy to go bankrupt.
Went a few days after New Years, The table d'hote options from their website were reduced and they were only offering only a holiday versions menu with limited options, My friends and I chose the Indian mixed sampler of 5 small metal containers with 3 vegetable and rice with 2 meat chicken and beef all served on a bigger metal round tray with some very good nan bread. Everything was reheated and standard fare, not bad but nothing exiteing, metal containers did nothing to keep the food hot, all the food was cold within minutes of being served. I would of personally preferred to have been served with ceramic common bowls onto a ceramic plate to keep the heat, and the metal trays were reminiscent of a high school cafeteria. I was kind of hoping to have a delicious Indian dessert but the server just brought out slices of Tiramisu, no coffee or tea offered. All and all the food was just ok , underwhelming, had better. Service good, and price leaning to expensive . Portions fair.
