I ordered a traditional gyro with chicken and a Montego Bay pork gyro at this restaurant. The chicken in the gyro was dry, likely overcooked and sitting out for a while. The Montego Bay pork was very salty and heavily spiced, making it hard to enjoy. Despite being very hungry, my stomach later regretted eating it. Additionally, the fries were soggy. I had tried this restaurant a few months ago and the food was much better then.
I ordered the chicken dish, but unfortunately it was undercooked and lacked flavor. The fries were decent, though.
I’ve eaten there once before (June 2021) and it’s been good, but yesterday I had the pork souvlaki pita and suspected the pork wasn’t fully cooked plus the tzatziki tasted almost like blue cheese. I threw it out after 3 bites. Three too many I guess, because now I’m sick like a dog in bed from food poisoning. I hope there aren’t others out there that got as sick as I did.
We immensely enjoyed our gyros, potatoes, Greek salad and calamari with the Picnic Atwater experience. Their gyros can be made vegetarian (not yet vegan because of the tzaziki sauce). The staff is wonderful, too. Five stars!!!
