Steaks were overdone and in an almost caramel-tasting sauce that was too sweet for my taste; the sides arrived lukewarm. Ambiance could have been nice if a table full of tourists in tank tops and reeking of Bourbon Street hadn’t been seated next to us in our business casual/evening dress attire. Our service was good- not rushed but attentive. Our experience wasn’t horrible but for almost $300 we most likely will not return.
That was one of the best culinary experiences I ever had. the food and drink were tasteful and delicious; the service, friendly, welcoming and professional. the turtle soup with sherry was sooo good. I visited nola in great part to have an amazing food experience, and galatoires has met my expectations in every sight. I look forward to my next trip to NOLA...Galatoires will definitely be on my trip.
Great food and service. old school not fine eating din right. great eating and ambiente. I went on a Saturday afternoon, still busy with locals in knowing. solid food. only good dessert.
Interior design and food were great. Historic. We went at 3PM on a Friday. Unfortunately the crowd was so loud that I could not hear anything. Even the person sitting next to me. Some people like that.
We're lucky in our timing. the server was incredibly helpful. she went through our order and helped us with suggestions to make our foodie experience perfect (we never saddened her name. so much good eating is hard to emphasize everything. it also had only a cool vibe know that generations of customers had been through there.
