We sat outside on the breezy mesh enclosed porch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal chatting and watching the guests who chose to dine out under the trees, in what looked like a fairy garden with strung lights. My dinner partner said his duck was hands down the best restaurant-meal he’s ever eaten in the US. He’s a world traveler, that one! My surf and turf’s short rib was a delicious lie… that rib is almost a foot long and the meat falls off the bone and melts in your mouth after 37 hrs of cooking. The Happy Wife cocktail lived up to its name as I was quite happy with that heavenly elixir. Homemade apple pie made and delivered to the restaurant by the chef’s wife, halted all table conversation from me. The servers are all passionate as they describe the menu to guests at their tables. Result, you want everything the other tables are having , plus yours! Garvan personally visited each table and chatted with his guests. Such a classycool place for any type of experience, first-date, anniversary, let’s-get-it-on-couple’s date-night, friends-reconnect, bridal shower, engagement! Go ahead, call now
The atmosphere is lovely. We sat on the back porch and it was definitely a good place to spend some time, which was fortunate because spend some time we did. It took almost an hour to get our two mains. The server was attentive during that time and refilled drinks but we weren’t really given any heads up about how slow everything would be. The food was not bad and reasonably priced but not worth the wait.
Amazing place! Absolutely gorgeous, classy and somehow homey at the same time. The food and drink selection is amazing and the service is stellar. I felt like I was transported to Ireland while I was there. A great place to go on special occasions with someone you love.
The best dining experience! The owner is so friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The atmosphere was exquisite. Today we are outside on the screened in porch and it was lovely. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Our entrees and dessert were incredible. I left feeling very satisfied of the whole experience. I will definitely be returning time and time again!
We have been coming here for about 3 years about once or twice a year. As a pescatarian I am limited to those options and have tried all of them. At this point I will be trying the veggie burger next time. The scallops disappointed for the second time. They arrived soaked in butter sauce and overcooked. The risotto was a congealed mess. Crab cake isn’t worth it and skip the stuffed mushrooms. The service is always friendly and the old house and grounds are incredibly charming.
