Contribuer aux commentairesFirst time ordering from Flor De Mayo. I specifically asked the young lady on the phone if they had Chow Fun. She confirmed with someone else and came back to our call telling me yes. I asked for Beef Chow Fun, no vegetables, just beef, noodles and gravy. She took it down and asked if I wanted the small order or the large. I told her small. I then ordered an Egg Roll. The total came to $22.80 and I had them put on a $5 tip. They forgot to tell me that they charge an extra $2.00 delivery fee. It arrived in 20 minutes, hot but they gave me Beef Fried Rice instead of Beef Chow Fun. The egg roll was also no very good. No soy, no mustard, no paper plate. AND NO MENU! I called them up and explained to the manager and he finally said that this is a Peruvian Restaurant and Chow Fun translates to mean rice. OK, after that, silence. He said he was sorry. No, may I make it right? May I send you something else instead? Nothing. So before I hung up I said I'm sorry too and you've lost my business. The reviews for this place were very good. I specifically ordered the Chow Fun because I went on line and googled the 10 best Chow Fun restaurants on the upper West Side, not the 10 best Fried Rice restaurants on the UWS. Sorry about this review but $27.00 for 4 bites of something I didn't order is just a bit disappointing.
One of my favorite Restaurants in NYC, the food is always delicious.Highly Recomendable.
There's always a line, but I don't get it. It's not all that. The service was excellent, but the food wasn't anything all that special. Not so flavorful or interesting. The ceviche was definitely disappointing.
It was my first time dining at Flor De Mayo .The food was amazing. I’m definitely looking forward to going back soon.
I have tried many a rotisserie chicken on the Upper West Side but this place beats them all. The chicken is succulent with their own secret marinade and half a chicken with a side dish( I love the fried plantains )is large enough for two people. They also prepare Chinese food which is good -but not as good as their Latin specialities. The rice and beans and avocado salad also stand out.
