My go-to dish is the butter paneer tikka masala paired with their special spiced old fashioned. Delicious! The delivery service is great as well. Food: 5/5.
If you're in search of a genuine Indian restaurant, look elsewhere. This place is a far cry from authenticity. However, if you think of curry merely as a sauce, then this might be suitable for you. The prices are exorbitant, which I anticipated due to the location, but the disappointing taste was the final straw. The clientele was predominantly American, as true Indian diners are aware that this is not the real deal and simply a waste of money. The ambiance was dreadful; the lighting was practically nonexistent, and the little light that was there was so dim that I often had to use my phone's flashlight to see what I was eating. Overall, it was an awful experience, and I won't be returning!
I've been there a few times now, and I've enjoyed each visit. Both the food and the atmosphere are excellent. The service could use some improvement, but I can overlook that. Overall, it's a five-star experience!
This is a pretty solid option for some Indian food on the UES. Coming from the Bay Area, I feel like I've had my fair sure of good Indian food, so this place didn't disappoint. I got the basic tikka masala because its consistent and (in my opinion) the best way to judge whether Indian food is actually good. The service was ok, a little slow but the vibes of the place made up for it. Not a bad place for a quick dinner!
I went on Sunday 4/16 afternoon. The food was disappointing. The Railway curry had big chunks of chicken that didn't absorb the curry flavor. I wish the texture was softer. The curry was watery. $26 for that is expensive. The naan wasn't fluffy or crisp. It was the most pathetic naan I've had. It felt flat once it cooled down. The rice was plain and didn't seem fresh. The Chana masala had a long hair. The portion was big. The flavor was ok. The service was good although my server disappeared outside so I had to talk to someone else. I liked the ambiance with music playing and an old James Bond movie playing. The inside is cute.
