The service was a bit slow at times but it was understandable because it was a busy brunch time. The tacos are good. I think the meat was prepared really well but I don't think it was seasoned to my liking. Some of the meat lacked some flavor but it wasn't too bad. Rice and beans were also good. The queso was decent at best. The first few bites were really good but the consistency becomes more watery as you go on. Definitely not a bad place! Decent at best. 3.5 stars to be honest.
I thought it offered good Mexican food at reasonable prices. The service was mostly fast and efficient, although our main server seemed like she was having a bit of an off day. We were in the upper level which was the only area I saw that had a table that could take our party size (8). The overall decor was pretty standard and nothing special. So overall a mid-level place that lived up to that standard. The 4 star rating, both in the general category as well in the individual categories (Food, Service, Atmosphere) reflects the fact that I thought it was good, but not superlative in any of them.
Its one of my regular places next to my office. Great mexican food and some amazing drinks. We have tried most of the menu here and you can never go wrong with any dish. Have good vegetarian options too. Place won’t burn a hole in your pocket, still will give a good time. Will recommend!!!
Are you heading out for a great night in Manhattan? Then Toloache is the perfect place to start! Our group was heading off to see Chicago, so we made a 5:00 pm reservation and were served promptly, giving us time to walk to the theater and enjoy the sights along the way. We dined in our curbside tent, offering privacy as well as providing less exposure to any unwanted health issues. The cocktails were sublime, as was their ceviche tasting menu. The octopus was a big hit, along with the tuna. We also indulged in a variety of guacamoles too. Dinner entrees included delicious tacos from short ribs to fish, enchiladas, and my favorite, Chicken Toloache. This entree was a savory, juicy, tasty mouthful! So if you want appetizers and cocktails or entrees and desserts, Toloache delivers upon its excellent reputation!
Loved our experience here, trying the guacamole, tacos and the miso-tequila glazed cod, all of which were flavourful and delicious. The server was very helpful in providing solid recommendations, and the food came out very quickly. The star of the show was the cod for sure; flavourful, flakey and not dry at all, it was the best fish dish I’ve had in a long time! Very glad to have had the chance to eat here on this NY trip!
