Masala Cafe Indian Cuisine - Newark

My friends and I stumbled upon this restaurant and our dining experience was truly amazing. I ordered the spicy boneless chicken biryani, and I would rate it a solid 10/10. My friends chose the chicken vindaloo and lamb masala, both of which they loved. The garlic naan was delightful—soft with perfectly crispy edges. While we are not Indian, so we can’t speak to the authenticity of the flavors, the chefs and servers are Indian, which makes us confident in the authenticity of the food. The dishes may appear a bit small in photos, but the portion sizes were very reasonable for the price. We were all able to share each dish equally. The service was also outstanding.

I had a wonderful dining experience today with my lovely partner. We indulged in masala dosa for the first time, and I must say, it was fantastic! The servers were friendly, and the dishes were exceptionally well-prepared. I enjoyed Chicken 65 with naan and two masala dosas, which paired perfectly with the samba sauce. Everything was delicious! I also tried the chicken samosas, and they were fresh and flavorful. I’ll definitely be returning soon with more people to share this delightful experience!

Was visiting out of town and this was the nearest desi spot from where I could get bryani. Ordered two bryani and haka noodles. The chicken bryani was amazing and spicy. And the serving was really great. One pack was enough for two people. Also packed the items very very nicely for my to go order. They also offered me a free mango lassi! I loved their food and service.

This is one of the best South Indian restaurants I've been to. They make some lip smacking biryani and chicken starters. But for sure their showstopper is their breakfast menu. The tomato chutney served definitely requires a special mention. The staff is very amicable and helpful. If you ever want some south Indian spices to hit your palate then this place is for you.

The restaurant is lovely, with a pleasant atmosphere. The food was quite tasty, and the staff were friendly. The highlight was the incredibly fast service!
