A real newport classic experience. we miss the formal Commodores room, but the dinge have changed and the more moderate culinary experience seems to be enjoyed by more people. eating is always extraordinary. not to keep harping on past, but missed seeing the bachforelle as a daily special. my favorite! Maybe I was gone a day!
We miss the old front part of the house menu less expensive and more conducive to a casual Tuesday night dinner. Don't always want to buy a $28 entree. Christmas music was blasting, making conversation difficult.
The tavern was festively decorated for Christmas! The noise level was a bit high because there were 2 large parties ?out for the holiday season. The service was very good, our waiter attentive. The food was delicious and the value was very good.
The service was great. The food was a little disappointing. We had lobster bisque the Black Pearl mussel to start. Both were a little bland. However the crab cake was excellent.
