We had caught halibut the afternoon we ate here so I thought this would be a fun experience. Though the owners were kind, they charged $28 per dish. The portions were small and, at that price, it was more expensive than buying the food using the beef they would have included if we didn't bring our own meat. Quite the rip off imo.
We love this hidden gem! They made us fall in love with Thai food. They are such friendly people as well. It is so hard to find a place to get good service but to also find a place that feels like home is miracle! A MUST while you are in Ninilchik!
This restaurant offers fantastic food, and they can adjust the spice level to suit your preferences, which is perfect for someone like me. They even cook your catch of the day! The chef, Nina, is truly amazing. Once you place your order, the food is prepared fresh and served to you promptly. The waitress, who is also Thai, is very attentive and provides excellent service. The owner, along with his wife Nina, shares wonderful stories and has a warm, welcoming personality that makes you feel right at home.
The Thai food here is excellent! However, I did find the portion sizes to be a bit small considering the prices. The noodles were perfectly cooked and not overly oily, unlike many other Thai restaurants. I'm really glad we decided to stop by, and the kids appreciated getting stickers when we left. The restaurant is cozy, with about 10 tables. The service was quick, and our food arrived even faster. This will definitely be a regular stop for us on future visits!
After catching some halibut and icing it down, we learned from our boat captain about a nearby Thai restaurant that would cook it for us. We had no idea what to expect. We started with an appetizer of lightly fried fish bites served with a sweet and sour sauce, followed by a cilantro-topped coconut and lemongrass soup. We also enjoyed a mixed vegetable dish with lightly battered fish. It turned out to be the most delicious Thai dinner we've ever had. If you're fishing in the area, we highly recommend trying it out. The food was prepared quickly, and the experience has left us with wonderful memories.
