The best establishment in the city! Volga cuisine is excellent. The restaurant is located near the Kremlin. The room is not very big, there is a separate room. The decoration is very peculiar doors with peeling paint, raw brick walls peeking out from under the plaster, plaster sculptures stand right there, folded paintings lie somewhere, fences are made of books folded in mortars. The picture is completed by a black ceiling. Were here for a business lunch. The choice of dishes is small. I took a salad with squid, mushroom soup with noodles, and buckwheat with veal cheeks. Everything was delicious, service was friendly and fast. For three dishes I paid 345 rubles. Measures to prevent the spread of COVID 19: the requirement to maintain social distance, wear a mask, hand sanitizers on the tables, masked waiters. Overall a good place for lunch or dinner. Menu only in Russian, service is not great. Food is just ok. I guess people like the prices of their business lunch. Not a place we would recommend or go back.

My friend and I were visiting Nizhni and we read about this place and came to have lunch. My friend is allergic to gluten and dairy, but there was gluten free pasta with tomato sauce and chicken on the menu and this is what she got. I got myself marble beef with forest mushrooms and potatoes. The pasta was absolutely awful! It was over cooked, tomato sauce was mainly water and had distinctive taste of sugar in it. My beef was overcooked as well and forest mushrooms turned out to be canned. Such a disappointment! Also Watermelon lemonade we could not drink. We were shocked by the place, it was so poor given all the recommendations we have seen online.
