The dining experience feels like a true taste of Mexico, possibly because the border is only about a mile away. Despite being in the USA, the authenticity is still captured without the need for border crossings. The service is quick and friendly, and the best part is that you get a generous portion of food for just around $10. A definite win!
When I was close to Mexico, I believed an authentic Mexican food, and this place definitely suffocated. I ordered the chicken gorditas that came with many pleasant surprises. First, I got a potato and cheese soup before my meal came, which was very tasty and hearty. My food came out very quickly before I could even finish the soup! My meal was good with bean rice, salad and other treats with the Gorditas. Overall, it was a very good, authentic meal at a reasonable price (including tip, I barely spent $10) I went again, this time a bean burrito with rice. Again I met good service and got a very satisfying meal for a very good price. The beans were somewhat muddy, but unlike that, everything was very good, with the salsa and burrito better than most
This restaurant opens early and serves delicious food at a great price. The meals are prepared quickly and this place offers extremely authentic Mexican cuisine, with Mexico being just down the street.
I highly recommend Machaca! They serve large, paper-thin flour tortillas with handmade salsa that has a kick. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great value. I particularly enjoyed the natural lemonade instead of a soda.
No chips and salsa was a little disappointing, but overall the food and service were incredible!
