The Brae - North Ayrshire

We recently had lunch here with a large family group. The service was very slow after waiting for 30 minutes we eventually had to ask them to take our food order. Even then, they kept us waiting for another 15 minutes before they came. The restaurant wasn't busy and one staff member in particular looked very annoyed to be at work. She was abrupt and borderline rude in response to basic service requests. The food was OK but nothing special. The prices were slightly higher than I would have expected from a village pub restaurant. There were no special deal options. Overall, not a good experience.

First time visit and we were very impressed. Food was lovely, staff were extremely pleasant, makes a big difference when you get good service. Would definitely recommend.

Turned up at 6:30, to be told we were late but my relative asked for the table to be booked for 6:30, chicken tempura starter was nice, however main courses took about 35 minutes, burgers were incredibly overcooked and rock hard, chicken tempura main was disgusting, nothing like the starter chicken tasted very processed and the batter was vile. lasagne was burnt and the garlic bread was rock solid. the restaurant was freezing and we asked to move table away from the window but were refused. chicken curry was incredibly sweet wasn’t nice at all, took 30 minutes to get dessert menus. chips were rock solid and tasteless, like they’d be sitting for a while we were then overcharged would not recommend waiter was very nice though

Really excellent choice of food would definitely recommend to everyone. Well done to the owners of this lovely restaurant.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and the service was also great, it was a Thursday evening for steak night which had 40% off as well
